• Visit the Museum of Egypt in Cairo. Here are collected all the historical riches of Egypt, gathered from all archaeological excavations. The museum displays more than 12,000 artifacts from every period of Egyptian history. The Egyptian National Museum has a collection of 136,000 valuable exhibits, from statues and reliefs to miniature coins and amulets. The museum was inaugurated by Said Pasha in 1857, at the suggestion of French architect Auguste Mariette, and moved several times to finally settle in the heart of Cairo.
