Half-day excursion to Majorelle Gardens
MAROCO,MAROCO (AF)
Price per adult 95 BGN
Price per child 95 BGN
In the Moroccan pearl of Marrakech, there is a garden – the gardens of Majorelle– a French artist who discovered the charm of North Africa. Jacques Majorelle says he orchestrates harmony in his garden. “I give myself completely to this horrible thing. It has overwhelmed me and I fall into its captivity completely exhausted in the shade of its branches, having given all my love…”
The history of the garden began in the 1920s, when the colonial era was at its height. It was then that Morocco was occupied by France. In the same year, a prominent French artist, Jacques Majorelle, settled in Marrakech. He bought the garden with the ideal goal of breathing new life into it. And it succeeds – rushing streams, water lilies and lotuses, chirping birds, rustling leaves, pink scent in the air, wildly vibrant and sparkling colours all around.
Today, Jacques Majorelle is forgotten by history, but the garden – quite the opposite, thanks to a big name in the world of haute couture – Yves Saint Laurent. It is to the famous designer that we owe this wonderful little piece of paradise. He took over the management of the garden in 1980, enriching it, not allowing it to sink into oblivion. Later, a small museum dedicated to Islamic art was built in the garden.

Marrakech – the Pearl of the South, a true tale of 1001 nights, an oriental rhapsody in red hues. Founded in the 11th century – the second imperial capital – an amazing city, with its Islamic and Arab architecture.
“If you want to get to know Morocco but only have one day, spend it in Marrakech,” said Winston Churchill.
Bright colours, various scents and fragrances, a maze of tents and souks, magic lamps, monkey and snake trainers, henna messages written directly on the skin – the exoticism of Marrakech will transport you to the world of “1001 nights”.
The Pink City will immerse you in its love tale where even commerce is romance!
We will see the Koutoubia Mosque – the largest mosque in Morocco- the icon of Marrakech. Legend has it that the beloved wife of Emir Yaqoub al Mansour donated all her gold jewellery, which was used to make the spheres at the top of the minaret. She did this to atone for a sin… Not what many immediately think. She simply drank a glass of water during Ramadan and thus broke the sacred fast.
We will pass by the commercial shops full of quaint oriental goods, where the magic happens.
A visit to the colourful Gemma El Fna Square, a square teeming with life, with atmosphere, scents, aromas and colour, where charm and joy are everywhere.

A trip to Andre Heller’s Anima Garden is a journey into another world where art and nature are intertwined. This is the most beautiful garden in Morocco, a breathtaking dream of greenery in an otherwise barren landscape south of Marrakech that definitely deserves to be called an oasis. He’s known for his work Heaven Over Desert, which, like Andre Heller’s Anima Garten, examines the flaws of Western life and artistically depicts the mysteries, beauty and limitations of the world.

Meeting at Sofia Airport for direct charter flight to Morocco. Landing at Marrakech airport. Duration of transfer to the hotel - about 20 minutes. Sightseeing tour of Marrakech including the Koutoubia Mosque - outside, the largest mosque in Morocco. Visit Gemma El Fna Square, where the show never stops - fire-eaters, storytellers, monkey trainers, snake tamers and all kinds of entertainers. Possibility of additional activities: visit the Majorelle Gardens. The history of the garden began in the 1920s, when the colonial era was at its height. It was then that Morocco was occupied by France. In the same year, a prominent French artist, Jacques Majorelle, settled in Marrakech. This garden, prosaically called a botanical garden, is actually magical and combines the French artist Jacques Majorelle's vision of colours and light shades, his love of Islamic art and plants. His aim was to create, as he himself said, "an impressionist garden", "a cathedral of forms and colours". It's like a puzzle piece from some other reality, misplaced amidst the pink colouring of Marrakech. Check in at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.
