Gaeta is a port town located on the Tyrrhenian coast, about 40 km from Baia Domitzia, in the direction of Rome. The walking tour starts with a climb up the Monte Orlando hill, part of the Natural Park “Riviera of Ulysses”,
where is located a sacred place for Christians, called “Montania spakata” – the split mountain. The religious complex includes a monastery, the Baroque church of St. Trinita”, dating from the 17th century,
the sacred alley with majolica, depicting the path of Christ to Calvary. A small 14th century chapel built into the rocks can also be seen here. The visit also includes the old part of Gaeta with the impressive church of St. Anunziata from the 14th century,
in which can be seen one of the oldest Neapolitan organs and the “Golden Chapel”. Free time for souvenirs and coffee.
Departure to Sperlonga, located 10 km from Gaeta. Pass beautiful beaches and small bays. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Sperlonga. where there is access to the excavations and the cave, which is next to the sea and the beach of Sperlonga.
Explore the centre of the town, where the town square and the town hall are located. Walk through the narrow, picturesque streets, past the 12th century church, which is closed to the public.
Free time with the opportunity to see one of the emblems of Sperlonga, the Trullo Observation Tower and lunch.
