La Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a fortress city oozing history and grandeur. A walk through its streets is like a journey back in time, among beautiful baroque buildings, majestic churches and hidden squares.

We start our walk from the Upper Barraca Gardens, where you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Grand Harbour and the cities opposite. Walk along the ramparts to admire the architecture and experience the history of the Knights of the Order of St. John.

Be sure to visit the Palace of the Grand Master, once home to the rulers of Malta. Today it houses the offices of the President and Parliament, and some of the halls are open to visitors. Wander through the lavish rooms, decorated with tapestries and paintings, and soak up the atmosphere of a bygone era.

St John’s Cathedral is another jewel of La Valletta. Despite its modest exterior, its interior is lavish and ornate, with works of art by famous artists including Caravaggio.

Stroll along Republic Street, the city’s main commercial artery, where you’ll find shops, cafes and restaurants. Drop into the side streets to discover hidden treasures – small churches, ancient buildings and cosy squares.

For a taste of Malta’s history during World War II, visit the Lascaris War Rooms. These underground tunnels served as headquarters for the British Army and played a key role in the island’s defence.

We end our walk with a visit to the Lower Baraka Gardens, where you will enjoy views of the harbour and the Siege Bell War Memorial.

La Valletta is a city that will fascinate you with its beauty, history and atmosphere.
