You will have the opportunity to stroll along the Piazza del Campo, the square that resembles an inverted shell, planned and realized by the government of Siena in the late 13th century.
The Piazza del Campo is where the famous Palio takes place on 2 July and 16 August, a tradition 800 years old. Palazzo Pubblico, seat of the government of Siena, converted into a city museum with impressive exhibits. Torre del Mangia – the tower that rises 102 metres and dominates the square.

The marble floor of the cathedral is composed of 56 panel-paintings, the work of 40 artists from Siena in the 14th-16th centuries.
