Caribou! This is how we will be greeted from the very beginning of your Kenyan adventure. Your 8-day safari adventure in Kenya starts from Nairobi.
After breakfast we will set off in the powerful 4x4 jeeps to the Masai Mara National Reserve. When we arrive, we will first check in at the hotel Ashnil Mara Camp - 4*, located inside the reserve itself, next to the Mara River, where we can see hippos and crocodiles. After check-in lunch. We will spend two sumptuous nights in this magical place to explore and experience the magic of the seventh wonder of the world, the Masai Mara Game Reserve, with the spectacular 'Big Five' lions, rhinos, buffalo, elephants and wildebeest migrating from Tanzania's Serengeti Park to the Masai Mara-Kenya. The expertise and experience of our driver-guides will maximize your chances of seeing all the splendor of the Masai Mara. In the afternoon, we will do a safari to enjoy the wild fauna and flora from the jeeps, with the roof up. We'll be looking for different wildlife and can take thousands of photos. It will be an unforgettable ending. Dinner and overnight at the Ashnil Mara Camp Hotel - 4* with the backdrop of the Mara River, where we will listen to the occasional powerful roar of the hippos found there at night. Of course our camp is surrounded by fences with electricity and security is guaranteed.
Masai Mara
After breakfast we will do an early safari so we can see the nocturnal predators coming home from hunting. We will have the opportunity to drive our cars up a high hill from which we will see the vast savannah and the many animals that inhabit it. We'll head to the Mara River in the cars to see the migration of the animals, like many crocodiles and hippos, the masters of the river. We will return to the hotel for lunch.
The Masai Mara is one of the most famous ecosystems in the world. This vast grassland is home to an amazing variety of wildlife including elephants, buffalo, zebra, crocodiles, ostriches, hyenas, rhinos, cheetahs, leopards and lions. Between mid-August and late October, the Masai Mara hosts one of the greatest spectacles on Earth: the annual wildebeest migration. More than a million wildebeest join zebras and gazelles as they venture into the reserve in search of fresh grass. Nothing is guaranteed on safari, but with the help of our brilliant guides you will be able to see and learn about the local wildlife as you drive through the park. The experience will be amazing! In the afternoon we will do a repeat safari, but crossing to the other side of the Mara River, entering an area called TRasmara. The most interesting thing is that the drivers communicate with each other with radios and if anyone sees anything unusual, a group of lions, elephants or whatever, they quickly notify the others so we can drive to where they are. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Ashnil Mara Camp - 4*.
Masai Mara - Nakuru
Early in the morning after breakfast we will head to Lake Nakuru National Park. We will pass through the Great East African Rift Valley, travelling past small villages mainly engaged in agriculture. Once inside the reserve, we will pass by the exotic Lake Nakuro. Lake Nakuru National Park and Lake Nakuru is one of Africa's top tourist destinations, famous for the flamingoes, small and large, that flock to its shores to feed on the cyanobacteria that live in its alkaline waters. It is a very important breeding site and stopover for many bird species and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At certain times of the year there can be between one and two million flamingos forming a large pink band around the edge of the lake. The park is home to one of the largest concentrations of black rhino in the world and has a thriving white rhino population. It is also a sanctuary for the rare Rothschild giraffe. With luck you might spot a leopard, which is quite elusive. which will impress us with its rich fauna and flora. First we will check in at the exotic Lake Nakuru Sopa lodge - 4* hotel have lunch and after a short break we will do the expected safari in the reserve. Once we're done, we'll head back to the hotel so we can have dinner amidst a spectacular panoramic view.
Nakuru - Naivasha
Early in the morning after breakfast departure for Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is the highest and most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes. At 1,910 m (6,200 f) the water is fresh and the lake is surrounded by thick clumps of papyrus (the ancient Egyptians once used this to make paper). Naivasha is another popular bird watching area (over 400 species have been recorded). It is also a favourite weekend retreat for Nairobians who come here to sail, water ski and fish. There are no crocodiles in the lake as the water is too cold for them due to the altitude, but there are hippos. You will arrive in time to check in and have lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort - 4* . We will then head to Lake Naivasha, where we will board boats with a local representative to explore the aquatic fauna, which is dominated by hippos and a variety of bird species. We will cross to the other side of the lake to get off the boats and do a walking tour of a small island full of wild herbivores. When we finish we will go back to the hotel. Dinner and free time.
Naivasha - Nairobi
On this day after breakfast we will check out of the hotel and head to Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi we will visit the National Museum of Nairobi. The museum aims to show us the rich heritage of Kenya. We will then have lunch in the garden of an exotic restaurant before heading to the giraffe sanctuary in the park, where we will be able to feed the gentle endangered Rothschild's giraffes in person. After the experience at the Giraffe Center, we will check into our hotel and later walk to the Carnivore Restaurant for dinner (a 10 minute walk from the hotel). Overnight at Tamarind Tree Hotel -4*.
